Live2D Editor - Tuorial

Basic

Load Or Create Config File

Load Config File

  • Open "EX Studio" and click "Live2D Editor"
  • Select Json file, or Select Model Folder, and click on the Json file in the file list

    Tips

    Could use 【File Inspector】to load new config file

Create Config File

  • Open "EX Studio" and click "Live2D Editor"
  • Select Moc file and fill in File Name. Select moc3 and Physics file, checking the texture you need
  • Select the Config File, and can see the contents of the Json config file just created

    Tips

    After loading the Json config file, click the "Create Config File" to create a new config file


Adjust Model Size And Display

  • Select " Edit Json Config"
  • Select "Options" and "Position X/Position Y" to adjust the initial position of the model
  • Select "Options" and "Scale Factor". The default value is 1, lower this value if the loaded model displays too large, and higher if not
  • Select "Options" and "Anisotropic Filtering Level". The default value is 1,If the loaded model has display problems (such as black corners of the mouth, etc.), increase this value. Note that high values add performance overhead and are recommended to be no higher than 4

    Notes

    The above items are only used as a fix when the model is too large or too small or display problems occur. In general, no adjustment is required


Add Expression File

  • Select "Edit Json Config"
  • Select " Expressions ", and click 【】 to add the selected expression file

    Notes

    Only expressions added here can be correctly identified in "Motions"


Add Idle Motion

  • Select " Edit Json Config"
  • New motion group: Select "Motions" and click 【】 in "Groups". In the predefined column of the new dialog box, select "Idle" and click "Confirm"
  • New motion: Click 【】 in Motions and find "File" in the new motion content page. Click " " on the right and select a motion3.json file as the idle motion
  • To create multiple idle motions, repeat the previous step
  • Click "Save" to view the effect in the Live2D editor

Add Global Click Event

  • Select " Edit Json Config"
  • New motion group: Select Motions and click 【】 in Groups. In the predefined column of the new dialog box, select "Tap" and click "Confirm"
  • New motion: Click 【】 in Motions and find "File" in the new motion content page.Click 【】 on the right and select a motion3.json file as the idle motion
  • To create multiple click motions, repeat the previous step
  • Click "Save" to view the effect in the Live2D editor

    Tips

    If there is voice or text in the click event, you can find "Sound" in the motion content page, click 【】 on the right, select an audio file, and enter the text you want to display in the "Text" input box


Add Part Click Event

  • Select the Artmesh tab, click the list item to display the corresponding artmesh area (the green box), find the area where you want to set the click event, and remember the artmesh name
  • Select "Edit Json Config"
  • New hit area: Select "Hit Areas" and click 【】 in the list. On the new item page, find "ID", click 【】 on the right, and select the artmesh name. If necessary, enter the HitArea name in the "Name"
  • New motion group: Select "Motions" and click 【】 in "Groups". In the predefined column of the new dialog box, select "TapArea" and HitArea select the name of the HitArea created in the previous step and click "Save"
  • New motion: Click 【】 in "Motions" and find "File" in the new motion content page. Click 【】 on the right and select a motion3.json file as the idle motion
  • To create multiple click motions, repeat the previous step
  • Click "Save" to view the effect in the Live2D editor

    Notes

    If both Part click events and Global click events are set, Part click events are preferentially triggered. Clicking outside of the trigger area triggers Global click events


Advanced

Multiple Motion Groups Play Simultaneously

Play Multiple idle Motions At The Same Time

  • Create "idle Motion Group 1", leave "layer" as default (blank), and add the idle motion
  • Create "idle Motion Group 2", and "Layer" fill in a number greater than 0 to add the idle motion
  • If need to add more idle motions, ensure that the"Layer" of the motion groups are different

Perform Multiple Motions At The Same Time/ Motions Across Layers

  • Create "Motion Group 1", leave "layer" as default (blank) and add "Motion A"
  • Create "Motion Group 2", fill in a number greater than 0, and add motion B
  • Add command "start_mtn" to "Motion A" and fill in "Motion B". "Motion B" will be triggered when "Motion A" is executed. Both motions will be played at the same time due to different layers of "Motion B"

    Notes

    • The "parameter values" in the higher-layer motions will override the same "parameter values" in the lower-layer motions
    • At any layer, if the "idle motion" is not set, the motion will stay at the "last frame" after it finishes playing

Application Of Float Variables - Switch

  • New motions: In the "Motion" list, click 【】 to create two motion events and fill in "Name" for the motion events
  • Add float variable Var (name can be customized) for "Motion 1":

    • Var = 0: Indicates that the motion can be performed only when the value of Var is 0
    • "Operation" Set Var to 1: indicates that after the motion event is executed, the value of variable Var is set to 1. So in the next judgment, since Var is equal to 1, the condition is not satisfied, so this motion is not allowed to be performed next time. Since the motion group has only two motions, " Motion two " must be performed.

  • Add a float variable Var (name must be the same as "Motion 1" ) to "Motion 2":

    • If Var equals 1 is set to 1, this motion is allowed only when the Var value is 1
    • "Operation" Set Var to 0: indicates that after the motion event is executed, the value of variable Var is set to 0. Therefore, in the next judgment, since Var is equal to 0, the condition is not satisfied, so this motion is not allowed to be performed next time. Since the motion group has only two motions, "Motion 1" must be performed.

    Application

    • Expression switch: Add expression for the first motion event, and remove expression for the second motion event with the " clear_exp "
    • Parameter value switch : The first motion event adds command "parameter set/lock" to set parameter values, and the second motion event adds the "parameter set/lock" to restore the original value

Application Of Dialog Selection

  • Create "Click event". See teaching above for the creation method
  • Fill in the motion attribute "Text" with what you want to display
  • Go to the "Options" tab and click 【】 to create several options
  • Fill in the option "Text" and the "Motion" to be performed after the click

    Application

    Change Clothes: In the " motion " property performed after clicking the selection, fill in the "change_cos" command


Intimacy System

  • Select "Controller" and "Intimacy System" and check the list to enable the Intimacy system
  • Fill in the options based on the Intimacy System attributes. It is recommended to fill in the initial value, minimum value, and maximum value at least
  • Intimacy can be used to control the triggering of motion events. Check "Advanced" and "Intimacy System" in motion options and fill in related options according to Motion event attributes
