Launch related¶
Message: "Start Failed"¶
This problem may be caused by various anti-virus software or security guards (including Windows Defender), try to add the installation directory to the white list, or close such software and try again
Message: "You must enable Aero theme first"¶
This problem usually appears in Windows 7 system, right mouse button → Personalize → select an Aero theme
Unable to see wallpaper after launch / Control Panel shows "Disconnected" or "Connect Error"¶
- Click 'Launch' in Steam library and select "Repair"
- Shut down the computer and start up (not reboot)
- Change default port in tray setting
- Turn off the network firewall, or add five exe files (lw, lwui, lwtray, exstudio, facetracker) in the installation folder to the firewall whitelist
Can not control wallpaper after launch¶
- Click 'Launch' in Steam library and select "Repair"
- It may be caused by some softwares that blocked mouse event such as Desktop Assistant Software, close them and try again
- Turn off the network firewall, or add five exe files (lw, lwui, lwtray, exstudio, facetracker) in the installation folder to the firewall whitelist

NVIDIA Control Panel → 3D Setting → Disable MFAA and FXAA

System Preferences → Accessibility → Display, check Reduce Transparency
Steam related¶
Does the software need to connect to Steam?¶
If you need to use Workshop and Screenshot, you need to connect to Steam, otherwise you can run it without Steam
The Workshop list is empty in Control Panel¶
- If you use it for the first time, please subscribe at least one item from Workshop. After the download is complete, it will be displayed in the list
- If you have subscribed items but the list is empty, check if Control Panel is connected to Steam, then click Refresh Item button
Latest subscribed item does not appear in the list¶
In some cases, when Steam discovers that the application is running, it will stop downloading the item. You need to close Control Panel first, then reopen it after the download is complete

In Desktop Mode, you can not use Background and Filter
Unable to load video background?¶
Due to the differences in hardware and system environment, some videos cannot be played properly on some devices
Display issues with model textures¶
Control Panel → Setting → Display, switch on 'Texture Correction' and change 'Anisotropic Filtering Level' (This will increase GPU usage)
High CPU/GPU usage¶
Loading several models, filters, effects, and video backgrounds can result in increased CPU and GPU usage
- Model, video (software decoding) affect CPU usage
- Filter, effect, video (hardware decoding) affect GPU usage
Others¶
- How to completely uninstall application¶
Due to the special update mechanism, uninstalling via Steam does not completely uninstall the application. Follow the steps below to perform uninstallation
- Go to the installation folder
- Uninstall software on the Steam client
- Delete the installation folder
